Here is the coke can trick and how to install crank seals for a stihl ms660 or the like.
It works for other saws as well that have a «lip» on the pto side of the crank that is touchy for the seal to get over without help. No need on the flywheel side because of the taper… that alone is enough to ease the seal on without risking inverting the rubber.
Because I can do this, I really don’t like assembling a case with the seals pre-installed. I prefer to pop out whatever seals that came with the saw and then re-install them myself.
