A look at my Stihl MSA 160 T cordless chainsaw. Cordless gear has progressed in a big way over the last few years. The last cordless chainsaw I tried was a Makita maybe 10 years ago – no chain speed and I could easily cut faster by hand. The Stihl on the other hand performs similarly to a small 2 stroke chainsaw without the pull start, noise or smoke. For crown lifting, deadwooding, the occasional small tree/shrub removal – it’s excellent. Keep in mind it’s one of the most (if not THE) potentially dangerous hand tools you can buy – please get proper training in the maintenance and use of any chainsaw!!
